Research supply glossary

Short definitions of terms used across the catalog, policies, and research library — written for laboratory buyers.

Batch / lot

A production group of material that shares manufacturing and testing context. Lot numbers on vials should match COA lot numbers.

COA (Certificate of Analysis)

A document summarizing analytical results for a batch (for example identity and purity under a stated method). Used for product records, not as medical authorization.

Kit

A multi-vial purchasing unit listed in the catalog so labs can plan inventory. Kit size is a logistics format, not a use recommendation.

Lyophilized

Freeze-dried solid form used for many beauty materials. Improves shipping and storage practicality for some materials; still requires appropriate lab storage practices.

Beauty products (RUO)

Intended solely for beauty and cosmetic formulation., clinical treatment, or household use on this storefront.

Dispatch

The process of preparing a paid order and handing it to the carrier. Distinct from final delivery time, which depends on the carrier and destination.

Order code

A short reference derived from your order id (often the first 8 characters) used in support messages to locate your order quickly.

Chain of custody

Records of who received material, where it is stored, and which experiments consumed which lots — essential for reproducible research.
